Nerja
Nerja a predominantly Andalusian style town in an area of outstanding natural beauty
some 35 miles east of Malaga. The town has resisted the sort of high-rise development
witnessed on the other side of Malaga, keeping its charm and village atmosphere.
Neat clean streets lined with charming white houses whose window box
display masses of colourful flowers, restaurants, bars and shops catering
for your every need.
Nerja has been a great holiday destination for many years with a big demand
for property for rent and sale. Nerja offers great facilities whether you are looking
for a relaxing holiday or lively nightlife here on the Costa del Sol.
Even within the town itself there are a handful of small sandy beaches including the
famous Burriana beach with its beach bars and restaurants and a new cliff top path
providing easy access to the town centre.

The town is easily explored on foot and on a stroll through the narrow winding
streets you will discover interesting courtyards, shops and the locals simply
sitting in the sun and enjoying the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere which is Nerja.
It was King Alfonso XIII who, gazing out over the
Mediterranean, Spanish
coast from a spit of land jutting out from Nerja, declared it the Balcony of Europe.
This landmark has become the magnetic centre of the town and at dusk, it is the
scene of a relaxed 'Paseo' as families stroll arm-in-arm along the wide avenue of
stubby palms, watching as the sea turns mauve.

Thanks to improved roads, you can get from Nerja to most of the major Andalucian
cities and sights along the Costa del Sol and inland Spain. Granada with its Alhambra
palace would be one good choice or even go skiing in the mountains and still be
back in the evening for tapas.
